The newspaper market has been subject to change for several years. In order to be able to cope with the constant innovations in the fields of technology and economy as well as the changed communication behavior and social structures, companies have to realign their business models.
This research examines changes that have occurred in Europe due to the advent of the internet and online social networks. It analyzes how the newspaper industry is adapting its business models and which newspapers have successfully adapted to the new digital challenges.
In addition, the use of social online networks by the largest newspaper publishers in selected European countries is being researched. Among other things, the aspects of multimedia, mobile services and offers, user-generated content, social communities, own communities and online features are considered.
