The book tells the story of natural persons in the internal market. The first part contains a concise, chronological description of the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union on the free movement of people and services, including the hitherto largely neglected coordination of social security. In this case law, which includes more than 1400 decisions, the book then traces the development and spin of certain interpretative formulas. Other formulas such as the greatest possible freedom or coordinating formulas such as simple coordination are examined in this way and their almost uncanny power comes to light.
The book will be essential reading for both practitioners representing clients in the Internal Market and academics interested in the Internal Market or interpretation in general.
